Remember the time when you first started looking at objects and start wondering how they actually worked? I vividly remember my 8th birthday when I had gotten a small walking robot as a gift. Instead of playing with the robot right away, I had taken the back panel off and looked at the wiring and the motors. I didn’t understand what any of that was at the time, but I remember the spark of curiosity that led me to that discovery. If you had similar experience, then welcome to the joy ride of curious minds and creative spirit.
It is my belief that we all have curiosity and creativity inside us, waiting to be sparked for the right cause. Just like my curiosity was sparked when I took apart the robot, others’ curiosity might be sparked in different ways. A mobile app, 3D game, and web page are similar creations of curious and creative minds and a little innovative way to explain the same basic human nature. It has been proven time and time again that kids learn best through kinetic activities such as building an app, or programming a robot. Just recently, the Project Zero initiative investigated that kids learn best when they are engaged in designing and creating projects to explore and learn concepts.
The joy of exploration is the foundation of curiosity and is the heart of lifelong learning. A thriving organization or business is a result of creative and curious minds. In agreement with these progressive education concepts, we plan to ignite a spark in young minds at elementary and middle school levels, and will keep you posted about their imaginations, creations and joy of building something unique by thinking outside their comfort zone.
